These two women do a cool thing. They sew really neato over the shoulder bags made out of used sails. Real live sails that have done some real live sailing, over, ya know, the oceans. I almost can't say too much here because their website says it so beautifully. When you go to their site, click on Brand at the top of the page, then click for more info at the bottom. The next page you see just makes me all weepy. These gals are doing good. I'm always so impressed by people who give in such creative ways. I think their hearts are delightfully large.
Someone has a birthday coming up and I know what I'm getting me. WHEEE!

There is a store in Newport that makes everything from duffle bags to sea-wothy jackets to pet beds all out of old sails. Some of them have giant numbers on them...like maybe they were competitive sails!
