Here's a reason why I love my little Greenfield town. This is from a story in the local paper. The Greenfield Loyal Order of Moose are doing a wonderful thing. They have purchased 144 stuffed moose animals to distribute to the police, fire and ambulance departments for children in crisis. These little moose are so cute, named Tommy, he's got soft, furry antlers and sweet, gentle eyes. They're used at accident scenes, fire scenes and incidents of domestic disputes. They are being given to 13 of our local communities. In operation since 2003, more than 10,000 have been given nationwide. Talk about an armload of some loving comfort. Too bad there is a need for this, but what a lovely gesture.
