two ones
In honor of http://greenhopeessences.com
Hooray for Molly Sheehan. She is the garden mistress for Green Hope Farm. They create wonderful flower essences here. And let me tell you, this woman is connected to The Divine. Check out her website and read her blog. Always enjoyable and I find myself laughing out loud often. I love the way she thinks and the way she writes. We've never met, but I love huh.
Her essences come from flowers grown on her farm, from the Adirondacks, Bermuda and Ireland. The flowers speak to her and she conveys their message. I know not everyone can relate to such things, but you just must read what she says. It's wonderful and uplifting and heartening all at the same time. Which is a powerful combo, yes?
And oh my golly, they make essences for our beloved animals. It's such a treat to read about her obvious love and concern for animals.
I'd love to here what you think after visiting her site. I predict you will look at all flowers in a completely different light.

the number of the counting shall be 10
You know who I love? Stacy and Clinton from What Not to Wear. I've been watching that show for years and more often than not, I still get kinda misty when their client comes out for the big reveal.
I wonder if Stacy and Clinton know just what an impact they have on peoples' lives. To some extent, I'm sure they feel it is "just their job" to come in to work, rank on the clothes people wear, suggest a kitten heel with a lovely cashmere shweater, go through the 2 days of shopping and send the person back home. But I hope they know that the time they spend with that person, in my mind, is so very priceless. It is obvious that most people walk a little taller, feel much more confident and feel they can walk into a room with poise and va-voom. And I don't think that's nothing. To boost someone on that level so that all that positivity can't help but trickle down in their lives is golden.
Maybe more of us should try to make someone feel good about themselves. Maybe we could try to say one really nice thing to one person everyday. Let's pay more attention to each other and see people doing good stuff. Let the niceness begin. Call it an experiment of the heart.
For me it's hard to do because for some reason I become so filled with emotion that I, um, well, I can tend to blubber. Who wants some lady walking up to them and saying, "I noticed you always buy an extra $20.00 worth of groceries for the food bank bin. I admire that." But with a croaking voice and tears falling down. There is such a person out there. I've never been able to tell her, but I silently bless her heart. Which is why this is such a good forum for me. No visible slobbering. That seems to work well.
P.S. If you don't know who Stacy and Clinton are, their show is on TLC on Fridays at 9:00. They really are delicious.

The neatest thing has occurred. Now does everyone remember my very first post? Yes? I thought so. How I wrote about my dog Betty and how she was pregnant when brought to the shelter . Well, through a random Google search a woman who has one of her pups found this site. She was reading the first page and saw the name Linda Diver. Linda was the one who brought all of Betty's pups up to Pennsylvania for adoption. So Deb went to my website and left a comment and we've been emailing dog pictures left and right. Isn't that thrills-ville?? Betty's pup is named Sunny and is so gosh darned cute, she looks a lot like her Momma. I just wanted to share this story and again say that wonderful people abound.

Here we go folks.

Really. People impress me so. Heather Buggee started this organization in 1996 to provide, at first, ceiling tiles for bedridden children at Blythesdale Children's Hospital in Valhalla, N.Y. The response was so positive that she went on to create this non-profit foundation and also increased the size of the artwork. They vary in size and theme. Check out the Installations page to see just how creative and colorful these pieces are. The whole website is great and you must listen to the You Tube video. Kudos to Heather, the volunteers, the sponsors and the artists.

Seven rhymes with heaven, are there seven heavens?
Oh my goodness, oh my goodness. You must check out these chickie la-la's. They are wonderful with a capitol WUH.

These two women do a cool thing. They sew really neato over the shoulder bags made out of used sails. Real live sails that have done some real live sailing, over, ya know, the oceans. I almost can't say too much here because their website says it so beautifully. When you go to their site, click on Brand at the top of the page, then click for more info at the bottom. The next page you see just makes me all weepy. These gals are doing good. I'm always so impressed by people who give in such creative ways. I think their hearts are delightfully large.
Someone has a birthday coming up and I know what I'm getting me. WHEEE!

6th Proclamation, I daresay
THESE GUYS!!!!
WOW. http://kitchengardenfarm.com
This is a couple who run a local farm in Sunderland. Tim Wilcox and Caroline Pam. They can be found at the Greenfield Farmer's Market on Saturdays and the Springfield Farmer's Market on Tuesdays. They also sell C.S.A. farm shares and offer home deliveries to Hampshire, Franklin and Hampden counties.
Their website is GORGEOUS and tells you everything you could want to know about these farming wonders. It is clear that they love what they do and that they have a respect and passion for farming and growing beautiful food.
When you see their produce you will understand. I have never seen such lovely lettuce, such ravishing radishes, such perfect peas. The heart and soul with which they farm is reflected in the beauty and bounty of their food. And it is friggin delicious.
Plus they are super nice, down to earth ( Ha! a farm pun) and always willing to chat about recipes, whether for beets, broccoli or bok choy.
I encourage you to meet and support this farming dynamic duo.

Took long enough....Le nombre 5
This website is teriff. You may have heard of it already. http://animalrescuesite.com/
From here you can perform a simple click of your mouse and because the people who sponsor this site are wonderful, every click is counted toward a bowl of food for animals in shelters and sanctuaries. It is totally free. You can also do some really cool shopping at all these sites, they have interesting and neato things that I know you just have to have. They are a partner of Petfinder who we love also.
Also on this site are links to other sites offering similar "bowls of food." There is the Hunger site, The Rainforest site, Breast cancer, Literacy and Child Health Sites. They are all right at the top of the page. Wicked easy.
Please check it out and thanks in advance for all those clicks. I happen to think you are grand.
